How I was betrayed by Tinubu , Buhari – Gov. Amaechi shares his story.

Following the aftermath of the just concluded APC convention. Gov. Amaechi has this to say:
” Let it be known, that I didn’t just join the APC, I was wooed by the legacy parties and four other PDP governors then. Naturally in every bargain, interests must be spelt out. Of course they did promise me the Vice Presidential ticket in the forth coming election with a condition to sell the party and make President Jonathan unpopular. The initial arrangement was to pair me with Hon. Tambuwal (Speaker of House of Representatives) .
But when other entrants like Atiku and others entered the party, everything changed. It was Gov. Nyako that opened up to me on the recent changes, and pleaded with me to take the position of the National chairman of party, that it will be zoned to the South-South. And I grudgingly accepted. Now, in every political convention, consensus building is needed to harmonize all interests.
So I initiated a platform for the 16 APC governors to talk in Port-Harcourt last week. And in that meeting, the 13 governors and their deputies that were in attendance reassured me that I will be given the national chairmanship slot. But when I asked Gov. Adams to ask Chief Ikimi and John Oyegun to step down for my candidate, Adam’s quietly told me “My brother, I know the bad name they have called you in the South-South and Rivers in particular. Again, I sympathize with you because I know how much you have put-in in APC, this Yoruba and Hausa people can’t be trusted, they said you couldn’t build the APC in Rivers State and that only 95,633 out of the 1.3 million membership you claimed have passport photographs. That everything was doctored by you”.
I find it very disappointing, that we no longer have men of trust, and integrity. Men whose words should be their bond in politics. So last night, I made my position clear, that if the other candidates didn’t step down for Dr. Sam Sam Jaja, then there was no point picking the expression of interest form. I feel deeply betrayed”

Murder Case: Police Intensify Investigation On Samuelson, Arrest Brother, Wife

The Police Public Relationship Officer, DSP Andrew Enwerem has urged the public to disregard all write-ups concerning citizen Samuelson Iwuoha and his arrest.
According to DSP Enwerem, the Police is currently seriously investigating the matter adding that as soon as investigations are concluded, the findings will be made public.
It would be recalled that last week Samuelson Iwuoha an some other persons were arrested in Owerri in the wake of secret cult activities during which some lives were lost.
Samuelson is allegedly accused of being part of the killing incident, and accusation the police is currently digging into. According to Police PPRO Andrew Enwerem (DSP) there is no political under tone as speculated in some quarters and inclusion of the name of a profiled elective office holder as being behind the matter adding that it is purely a murder case police is investing.
Meanwhile as at the time of going to press, another sibling of Iwuoha has been arrested in connection with the matter.
Trumpeta learnt Iwuoha who it was rumoured would have appeared in court was taken to the cyber-café he claimed he went to during the day when the said incident occurred. It was also learnt he is facing grilling for allegedly petitioning the Inspector General of Police while in detention.

Onyeagocha Goofed On Ohakim Re: Onyeaguocha Alleges: Ohakim Burnt His House To Attract Sympathy.

By Chinyochaobi Israel, 08137921022
This explosive joke captured the front page Headline of Nigeria HORN Monday May 19-20, 2014. My take is that he who alleges must prove! To the respected Uche Onyeagocha, this blunt but enigmatic, charismatic former Owerri Federal Constituency representative stirred the honest nest by the above unorganized wordings, against Imo’s Ochinanwata. But my respected Owerri senate Hopeful, for 2015, got it all wrong by the above Nebulous Assertions. My take is that Ex-Governor Ohakim can never Burn his house to attract a belated sympathy for what and for whom? I am not in Ohakim’s camp but I am a human being created by the sovereign Lord who can reverse the Irreversible. The Bible admonishes us to rejoice with those who rejoice and mourn with those who mourn. The question remains: has my respected Hon. Uche Onyeagocha who is expecting massive votes from Owerri Federal constituency reasoned that Ex- Governor Ohakim is a write off and does not have thousands from Owerri Federal Constituency who are Ohakims foot soldiers, and who will vote definitely against Uche because of that callous statement?” Hon Onyeagocha should have separated politics from humanism, even a fellow Activist citizen Ikenna Samuelson Iwuoha who may be saidl to be more at enemity with the former Governor Ohakim, (though citizen Samuelson has forgiven him), sympathized with Imo’s Ochinanwata. Ex-Governor Ohakim can not for whatever reason dream of burning his own hard earned abode he acquired before even becoming a Governor. That prefab House represented for him (Ohakim), his own “Biblical Antioch where Christendom started”. What image is the respected former Federal House Member, legal luminary and Human Right activist portraying to the critical public? Such ugly incident can come to anybody. This is a small world. If this is a clever way to defend APC as a non violent party, he has missed the point. Hon Uche should know that if the electorate in his, federal constituency or the electorate in an enlarged constituency like Imo State are going to vote for Hon. Uche Onyeagocha, it will be purely on Uche’s merit not because of APC. Imo electorate are not thinking along the line of APC. What actually is happening right away in the APC States? Violence! Kidnapping of close to 276 innocent Christian girls of Chibok into a notorious and evil Zambisa dungeon (forest). APC is being equated to Boko Haram political arm while the main Boko Haram beasts are ascribed as the Ant-Jonathan, Anti-Christian, Anti-PDP attack dogs. This is how most Imo electorates view the Hon. Uche Onyeaguocha’s APC. May I remind my senior uncle and my respected orator that Imo electorate have since reversed their negative thinking about Ex-Governor Ohakim. Any whipping up sentiments against him either through press releases or he burnt his House do not hold any water any more. Imo electorates are patiently waiting to give APC its rightful place in the Imo HALL of “did I not tell you?”, Imo electorate watched how APC wings were clipped by Anambra electorate, and the ANAMBRA stake holders who swore to throw APC in their Trash Can. They did exactly that. The PDP descended on APC in that Anambra field of play. APC Imo’s turn is fast coming I am being made to understand by the grape vine. Hon. Uche Onyeagocha was quoted “nobody body Ohakim’s house. Ohakim and his people in PDP should be held responsible for that incident. That house was burnt inorder to attract undue sympathy. APC is not known for violence. The worst of Okorocha is better than P.D.P. APC will crush PDP in Imo State in 2015 and the best thing governor Okorocha did for Imo people is to move us to APC. There is no comparison between PDP and APC. Imo Governorship in 2015 is not open for PDP because they don’t have a candidate”
In the first place, if nobody burnt Ohakim’s house, then the good people of Imo may ascribe it to be the “unidentified flying objects (UFOS) in APC. Propaganda versus Propaganda. Stock fish versus stockfish. Money counter money. Since the respected Hon. Uche Onyeagocha have identified the unidentified flying objects in PDP, it is expedient that the UFOS in APC should not be left out. As regards Uche’s assertion that “the worst of Okorocha is better than PDP” is necessary to remind Hon. Uche that PDP’s 12 years of “respect for civil service Rules, the prudent management of Resources and Accountable Governance of Dr. Achike Udenwa years; the state of the Art Teaching Hospital at Orlu, the State secretariat along Port- Harcourt road, the non commercialization of every Government establishment, Respect for IMO STATE LIBRARY kept by Commander Ndubuisl Kanu and Chief D.C.O Njamanze (SAN), of the blessed memory, Ukpabi Asika, Amadi Ikwecheghe, the respect for the old structure of old Douglas House, due process in the employment 10, 000 Imo Workers by ex-Governor Ohakim (Unlawfully) disbanded, is far more better than a second of lawlessness of APC. A lawless APC breeds Sambisa Beasts, which the good people of Imo have outlawed come 2015. Another interesting revelation and declaration by my respected former federal law maker is “that” Imo Governorship in 2015 is not open for PDP because they don’t have candidate” to this assertion to my mind is that Hon. Uche Onyeaguocha “goofed”. The 2015 PDP Big masquerade will eventually emerge to dare the APGA cloned child of circumstance” – THE APC – PANADOL! IMO

Owerri Zone Senate: Why Samdaddy Is Favoured For PDP Ticket

By Chibuzor Ugochukwu
Owerri zone politics is a perfect example where those who rake the muck and the muck-rakers co-exist. You see that in the teeming number of persons who want to represent the zone in the red chambers of the Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. They are all jostling to succeed the incumbent, the ebullient Senator Chris Anyanwu whose second tenure expires in June 2015.
In the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), aspirants are lining up and few more are expected to join as the tempo of the race increases. But who will clinch the party ticket? What qualities should the PDP delegates in Owerri Zone consider before casting their ballot in the party primaries billed for sometime in October?
To deeply appreciate the manner of personality that would seamlessly succeed the incumbent Senator and guide Owerri zone to its desired socio-economic £um political destination, it is imperative to go on a voyage of discovery of the people and politics of Owerri Zone. This position is further strengthened by the standard and candor Senator Chris Anyanwu has set in her two tenures of representation of the zone on the floor of the Senate. Therefore, any personality that must succeed her most not only be qualified, but must have the wherewithal to surpass the achievements and stability Senator Chris has brought to bear. Owerri Zone is a zone brimming with sound intellectuals, seasoned technocrats, well-heeled business people, notable politicians and globally acclaimed professionals.
It is therefore a well rounded Senatorial Zone. The race to represent it should not be replete with all the appurtenances of a typical kindergarten race. With the entrepreneurial prowess of the typical Mbaise and Mbaike people, the gutsy spirit of the Ngor Okpala and Owerri man and imbued derring-do of the average Owerri Zone man, the zone is undoubtedly laden with a group of uncommon creatures.
As the landlords of the State Capital territory, the people of Owerri Zone has not faired less in the political activities of the State and the Country. To posit that the politics of Imo State is incomplete without Owerri Zone is to state the obvious. A collection of these factors have positioned the Zone in a prime position in the politics of the State.
This is why the zone needs a pragmatic, selfless, public-spirited leader, a person of integrity who can easily connect with the people and give them what they desire. Not people with a history of brigandage and wanton indulgence in vainglory. What Owerri Zone needs today and tomorrow is a leader, a person they can trust, a man who has in time past demonstrated an uncommon knack to engender development even with limited resources. Among the motley crowd of contenders and pretenders to the PDP ticket of Owerri Zone Senate, only Hon Samdaddy Nnaemeka Anyanwu, an elegantly simple businessman turned politician fits into this leadership mould.
With a handsome and likeable look, Hon Samdaddy has bestrode the Imo State political scene like a colossus. He remains the only person in living memory who amassed the highest followership and admiration from his subjects while in office as the Executive Chairman of Ikeduru LGA, and as the member representing Ikeduru in the hallowed chambers of the Imo State House of Assembly. His connections with the people has nothing to do with his oratorical suavity or persuasive dexterity, it owes much to his indelible landmarks and footprints of development.
The biblical cliche in the holy writ of proverbs which says “seems thou a man diligent in his business? He shall stand before kings, he shall not stand before men of low estate” aptly describes Hon Samdaddy Anyanwu, PDP Aspirant for Owerri Zone Senate. He is passionate with little details such that nothing escapes his sights. He seems to see beyond the ordinary, which makes him to personally attend to little details until he achieves the desired perfection. This is the kind of man that can represent Owerri Zone in the Senate.
It is important to note that since the emergence of Hon. Samdaddy Anyanwu in politics and PDP, the party has not being the same again. He did not only win the Local Government election for the party in a keenly contested election, he has hugely changed the fortunes of the party in Ikeduru and Imo State in general. The popularity and growing strength of the PDP could be traced to this loyal, hardworking, urbane and humble politician.
As the Executive Chairman of Ikeduru Local Government Area between 2003 and 2007 under the PDP, Hon. Samdaddy Anyanwu has remained as constant as the northern star, as far as loyalty to the party is concerned. He used the delivery of the dividends of democracy to build a solid foundation and support base for the party in the area. Hon Samdaddy’s tenure as the council head witnessed a transformation both in human capital development and infrastructural development. He launched a free computer training programme for youths in Ikeduru that kick started a computer revolution in Ikeduru. Hon. Anyanwu as LGA Chairman constructed the Afor-lolo Amaimo road, built the perimeter fence of the Council Secretariat, sunk boreholes in various communities in the Council including the borehole at the Council Secretariat, he constructed market stalls in major markets in Ikeduru, gave bursary to students of Ikeduru origin studying in institutions of higher learning, among other visible achievements.
Naturally, this litany of achievements like bees to honey expanded the membership scope of the PDP in Ikeduru, as well as brought unprecedented goodwill to the party. Interestingly, this accomplishments instead of getting into the head of Samdaddy and making him intransigent further reinforced his loyalty to the party. The name Samdaddy and by extension PDP became a household name in Ikeduru, and also synonymous with the delivery of the dividends of democracy. This is the major reason why till date it will be very difficult for another political party to win election in Ikeduru.
In the words of George Washington, the doyen of the American nation “great minds have purposes others have wishes, little minds attain greatness and are subdued by misfortunes, but great minds rise above them”. In the State House of Assembly, Hon Samdaddy Anyanwu became a rallying point for all PDP members in the House. He combined his brilliance in the area of bills and motions on the floor of the House with active participation in party activities thereby justifying his election by his constituents as well as confirming his position as a loyal party man.
Hon Samdaddy Anyanwu has sponsored three bills in the Imo State House of Assembly, and co-sponsored over sixteen other bills ant motions. Chiefly among them is the Customary Court amendment law? law that enabled lawyers to preside over Customary Courts in the State as against the old practice of using lay people. This law provided job opportunities for lawyers. The House of Assembly motion that provide basic infrastructure to traders at the timber and allied market Naze was also sponsored by Hon Samdaddy. Today, traders at this market v never forget the name SAMDADDY.
This quintessential legislator has facilitated the employment of over sixty youths of Ikeduru in the State ministries, agencies and parastatals. Most of the people he gave admission into institutions of higher learning are currently studying now, and those he gave job will forever remain grateful to this selfless politician. His investments in youth activities are truly second to none. Hon Samdaddy as records have it is the only Ikeduru politician that has consistently supported the National Youth Council of Nigeria Ikeduru Chapter and other student bodies. These explain the numerous awards at his disposal.
What is remarkable about this politician is that in choosing to remain with the PDP to pursue his political career, he has come to understand that opportunities never come to those who wait; they are captured by those who dare to attack.
Hon Samdaddy has continued to attack in the pursuit of his political career but is doing so with politeness and every sense of responsibility. In pledging his continued allegiance to the PDP, the generous Hon Samdaddy shines the light on the dark alley of party loyalty so thin inhabited in our political system. With politicians like Hon Samdaddy Anyanwu, there is still hope for the party and our politics. Hon. Samdaddy’s financial support to the party has remained legendary. Little wonder his frequent visits to the party secretariat are always greeted with tumultuous welcome. “Action” is his second name.
Happily, the leadership of the PDP in the State has continued to acknowledge the uncommon loyalty of this sagacious lawmaker, and one is upbeat that the party will look at the direction of Hon Samdaddy when it is time to reward loyalty.

Ahead National Convention Okorocha, Izunaso Supremacy Battle Resume, As Oguta Stakeholders Threaten Mass Defection

Despite majority of the party members heading to Abuja for the all important National Congress to elect national officers of the party, all is not well in the Imo state chapter of the party.
Except there are last minute face mending changes, the Imo state arm of the party will likely witness mass decampment to rival parties because of the lists of delegates from the various LGAs to the national convention which were said to have been doctored and manipulated to favour some interests in the government.
Another disturbing story is the seeming rivalry between the governor and a national officer of the party Senator Osita Izunaso concerning delegate lists of people to represent Orlu zone interest in the Abuja convention.
Our reporter who monitored the development reported that the party office where delegates were handed items including wrappers for the exercise, almost turned to a warfront when supposed national delegates who were elected during the last LGA congress were short-changed and fresh persons handpicked by key government officials.
Worse hit is Oguta LGA where majority of the stakeholders have concluded arrangements to dump APC for PDP following the concentration of national delegate list in one particular community after the same community benefited from several LGA offices in the last exercise.
Trumpeta observed that majority of Oguta APC members are on their way out of the party to PDP following the alleged hijacking of the prominent offices by the secretary to the state government, Prof Anthony Anwukah. It was observed that apart from gaining the ticket to be one of the national officers, Prof Anwukah who is from Egbuoma was accused of also being behind the names of Denton Ogbuchi and Ada Okorie both from Egbuoma as the occupants of the remaining two slots for national delegate positions.
Oguta APC members spotted at the party office were threatening fire and brimstone over the skewing of APC party offices to the country home of the SSG adding that the name of one Mrs Nnenna Okafor was allegedly substituted with that of another woman from Egbuoma community.
The aggrieved who are forwarding a petition to the state and national officers over the alleged manipulation said that they have concluded arrangements to abandon APC in Oguta for Prof Anwukah and join PDP.
“Our APC party should not be a one man show in Oguta. How come Egbuoma in Egwe/Egbuoma ward has the state woman leader in the person of Ohanuba Theresa and the party secretary in the LGA, Linus Anunuba? Now they have pocketed the three national delegates for the entire Oguta APC.
During the LGA congress we agreed on harmonization and names adopted, but another woman has been chosen and given the necessary items because she is from Egbuoma, the community of the SSG” said a source.
Neighbouring Oru West LGA is also in turmoil following the changes observed in the final list of delegates made available to the party in the state from APC national office.
Trumpeta observed that the Deputy Speaker, Hon Donatus Ozoemena lost out in the game as most of his associates could not make the final list. A disturbed Ozoemena purported to the eyeing federal house was said to have given way to be interest of the national organizing secretary, Sen Izunaso.
The action is said to have pitched Izunaso against Okoroch.
It would be recalled that during the state harmonization exercise, Izunaso walked out. But the former national Assembly member said to be eyeing the Senate again in 2015 was suspected to have strengthened the lists at the national office before returning it to the state.

How I Gave Rochas APGA Ticket In 2011 -Uwazuruike Ojukwu Never Wanted Him, MASSOB Leader Insists

By victor madumere
The claims and counter-claims between Governor Rochas Okorocha and the Leader of the Movement for the Actualization of Sovereign State of Biafra, MASSOB, Chief Ralph Uwazuruike over the processes that made the number one citizen of Imo state governor is unending as the MASSOB leader insists he actually facilitated the APGA ticket to the governor.
Speaking to journalists moments after he accompanied re-instated chairman of Imo state council of Traditional Rulers, Eze Cletus Ilomuanya to retake the secretariat of Ndi Eze Imo in New Owerri, Uwazuruike described how he convinced the leadership of APGA, led by late Ikemba Ojukwu and national leader of the party to give Okorocha the party’s governorship ticket.
In his words “Late Odimegwu Ojukwu never ascribed to his membership let alone being the party’s governorship candidate, but as Ojukwu trusted confidant I convinced him to accept his membership and aspiration. I did same on Chief Victor Umeh’s led National Executive” Uwazuruike disclosed.
He stated that it was based on his (Uwazuruike’s) integrity and antecedent that the leadership of the party banked on to accept Okorocha in APGA and gave him the candidacy he never had in all his political ambition and aspiration.
“It was on that premise that the leadership of the party agreed that, their Imo guber ticket will be given to me for me to hand it over to whoever I know and believe that will be his brother’s keeper and deliver for the party in the general interest of Imo people. In the presence of some state and national APGA leaders I handed the ticket to Rochas Okorocha in my house at Okwe, Onuimo LGA” he revealed.
Speaking further, Chief Uwazuruike, told newsmen that he did what he did with the believe that Rochas was a true Igboman considering his utterances and promises.
However, the Okwe born lawyer and activist averred that Okorocha’s actions and utterances afterwards have proved that he is not a true Igbo man let alone a leader or manager, as he has ended up making himself an emperor with total neglect on constituted authorities, human rights, due process, judiciary, law and order at the detriment of Imo electorate and Igbo race.
Barr Uwazuruike, submitted that the emergence of Okorocha as Imo state governor has exposed his lack of leadership and managerial qualities, his vindictive tendencies and total lack of Igboness in him, making it impossible for any right thinking Imo and Igbo man to support any other political ambition he will undertake in the future.
